Vacancy - Investigating Officer, Wellington
As an Investigating Officer you would be joining our Investigations Team based in our Wellington office. The position involves the investigating, settlement and resolution of complaints concerning breaches of individual privacy. You will enjoy variety and challenge in a number of related areas, including presenting educational workshops to the public, and appearances in the Human Rights Review Tribunal. This is a full time permanent position.
You will need to be a person who enjoys working in a close knit team. Ideally you will have legal or regulatory qualifications, and perhaps some experience in a legal or regulatory environment. Applications from recently qualified persons will be welcomed.
We are a small, friendly office, with committed and highly professional staff. We are looking for a person preferably with:
• excellent legal skills - formal legal training, or some experience in a similar regulatory role;
• excellent oral and written communication;
• an ability to communicate with a wide variety of people in a positive and helpful manner;
• an inquiring mind;
• sound judgement;
• the ability to handle sensitive information appropriately;
• experience with, or a good working knowledge of the privacy laws.
