The complainant and other union members agreed to a contract with their employer following negotiations. The complainant alleged that the employer circulated a copy of the contract to non-union members so they could be a party to it. He asked me to investigate this disclosure.

I thought the complaint could be settled on an informal basis.

The complainant and his employer met and agreed in writing that, in future, the schedule containing the names of employees who signed the contract would be deleted when it was circulated to prospective parties. The practice of circulating the schedule to management would continue, but the information would be marked as confidential.

The complainant was satisfied with this outcome and I discontinued my investigation.
