Can my information be shared within an agency?

Yes. Generally, your information can be shared within an agency when it is being used for the purpose for which it was collected. Information privacy principle 10 of the Privacy Act governs use of information within an agency. You can find out more about principle 10 here.

Also note that agencies holding personal information do need to take reasonable steps to keep it safe within their own workplace from misuse, such as inappropriate access by people with no need to know.
