The Privacy Good Research Fund will soon be opening again and accepting applications. The Fund is intended for privacy-related research projects and awareness raising initiatives.
The 2019 round will be open from mid-July and will accept applications through til 6 September, 2019.
An inaugural round of the Fund was run in 2015, and four applications were awarded funds. See here to read about those projects.
A public symposium was held in late 2016 to showcase the successful applicants.
The Office will be opening the fund with assistance from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) Legacy Fund. Further details of the amount of funding available will be announced late next week. Check the Privacy Commissioner’s website www.privacy.org.nz and social media feeds for more details.
Please spread the word across the research community. Applications from individuals, students and community groups are welcome. The Fund welcomes research that will support community organisations in their use of data and interactions with government.
The research findings are planned to be available publicly later in 2020.
