The Chief Ombudsman and the Privacy Commissioner undertook a joint investigation on the Earthquake Commission's (EQC) handling of information requests in the aftermath of the Canterbury earthquakes. The report - Information fault lines: Accessing EQC information in Canterbury - was carried out with a view to establishing how a lengthy backlog of information requests might be fixed as quickly and sustainably as possible.
