Before you can take a privacy case to the Human Rights Review Tribunal, the Privacy Commissioner’s office must have investigated the aspects of your complaint that you want the Tribunal to consider.

Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have 6 months to file a claim in the Human Rights Review Tribunal. On 1 December 2020, the new Privacy Act came into force, replacing the Privacy Act 1993.
