Media statement on Dick Smith Electronics' customer data

Due to a stream of enquiries from the public to our office about customer data, we have been in touch with the legal advisers of the receivers of Dick Smith Electronics.

We have received assurances that the receivers are aware of and will comply with their obligations under the New Zealand and Australian Privacy Acts.

Dick Smith customers are being contacted by email by the receivers Ferrier Hodgson and being advised they can unsubscribe from the company's customer database before it is transferred to a new owner. The deadline for unsubscribing is 5pm 22 March 2016.
