Can health professionals share patient information with each other?
Yes, they can. Section 22F of the Health Act 1956 says a health professional should disclose health information about a patient with another health professional who is providing or about to provide care to that patient. But a health professional may refuse to disclose patient information if they reasonably believe a patient does not wish their information to be disclosed.
